National Security

I am proud to have worked with this Congress to pass H.R. 1. This is a bipartisan bill implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. This landmark legislation works to further secure our cities and ports from future terrorist attacks.

The events that happened on September 11, 2001 have altered our daily lives and how we view the world. Not a day passes that we are not reminded of this great tragedy. We must also continue to ensure that such an assault on our nation never occurs again.

We must remain vigilant and focused on allocating resources to effectively safeguard our country against future attacks. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to be certain that we are maintaining the proper priorities in guarding our homeland.
